What is Domestic Abuse?
The UK government’s definition of domestic abuse is ‘any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse between those aged 16 or over who are, or have been, intimate partners or family members regardless of gender or sexuality.’
1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. The number of reported incidents is rising, with the UK Police recording an average of one incident of domestic abuse per minute.
Domestic abuse can take many different forms, including:
using emotional abuse
minimizing, denying and blaming
using economic abuse
using coercion and threats
physical and/or sexual abuse

I currently offer two coaching options for people who have experienced domestic abuse:
1 to 1 Coaching in person near Norwich or online (using Zoom)
Power Up! group sessions in Norwich, specifically for people who have experienced domestic abuse.

Self care and self respect usually get a big knock during abuse, so we'll work on how you can restore both of these. You'll start to feel worthy of love again, both worthy to love your self and worthy of love from others.
We'll look at the quality of your connections with others and how you could be more effective in the way you communicate your thoughts and feelings. You'll understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy ways to communicate, and learn techniques that you can use in all aspects of your life.
We'll look at what goals you can set for yourself, small steps to start with and then, once your confidence builds, you'll start challenging yourself with bigger goals.
