ACT Peer Practice Group
If you're a Therapist, Coach, Counsellor or Health Professional who would like to incorporate Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) tools into your working practice, then these fortnightly events are for you. ACT tools, metaphors, techniques and exercises are useful both with clients and also as part of our own life skills toolbox.
This group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday 17:00 - 18:30 (UK time), is held via Zoom and is a mix of people from all over the world and with a range of different backgrounds (including Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Therapists, Peer Workers and Life Coaches).
At the beginning of each meeting we have a short discussion to ensure everyone is familiar with the chosen topic, helping each other clarify uncertainties prompted by reading the book, and then we divide up into breakout rooms and practice. Then, at the end, we agree the topic for the next meeting, which can be anything ACT-related.
We use ACT Made Simple (second edition) by Russ Harris as a reference / text book for the ACT tools / exercises / techniques that we practice, so it's useful to have this book to refer to.
Getting together as a group enables us to learn, flex our ACT muscles and grow our ACT toolkit alongside each other in a safe, accepting and supportive environment.
